“At 6.5% this beer was Pete’s Magnum Opus. It won Champion Winter Beer of Britain 2012 (amongst countless other awards) and was brewed after Alfie the squirrel went missing from the pub.
Tasting Notes: A strong rich ale with a deep polished red colour. It has a big malt flavour with chocolate and biscuit notes.
About the name: Named after a stuffed red squirrel that used to live in the Driftwood Spars bar. He went walkabout a few years back but hasn’t been seen since.“
Ingredients: water, malted barley, hops, yeast
